When we see that something is wrong!

Misfueling is a mistake that we don't even know we made, before is to late. Watch out and pay attention to the behavior of your car, to prevent more damage.

Sometimes we don't even know that we misfueled before is to late. We usually just fill up and drive away.

The signs showing us that the car is misfueled are:
  • the engine is losing power,
  • smoke starts coming from the exhaust pipe,
  • the electronics record a fuel pressure drop and it switches to the auxiliary operations,
  • the engine works unevenly,
  • the dashboard shows warning lights signaling that something is wrong.

The driver can continue to drive to the nearest repair shop with the use of auxiliary operations, but is more recommendable to remove the car from the road immediately and use the tow service to take into the repair shop. There they clean the fuel tank, the fueling system and they also have to check the pump, which is the most exposed part when misfueling.

It is more dangerous for a driver who filed the fuel tank with some wrong fuel if the problems with the engine operations are less obvious and the car is operational (for a longer period of time). This increases the possibility for a total destruction of the pump or of the fuel injection jet.

So watch out what are you doing, and listen to your car behaviour! Or even better, avoid the possible mistake and install the SoloDiesel cap (www.solodiesel.eu)!
