7.5 million liters of diesel ends up in the trash

During the last ten year the number of misfueling incidents in Great Britain doubled. This accounts for 7.5 million liters of extracted »dirty«, useless fuel each year.

Three Olympic swimming pools could be filled with the contaminated fuel, which is extracted and discarded. Since the problem of misfueling is increasing continually, the English Automobile Association (AA) spent two million Euro to purchase special vehicles, specialized for helping the people with this kind of problem.

Specially trained teams complete approximately five interventions a day, 99 percent of the vehicles are “put back on their feet” in a little over an hour. The drivers have to pay approximately €200 for this service.

The AA Fuel Assist vehicle is also equipped with 330 liters of fuel and the statistics tell us that they help about 60 thousand people who have misfuel out of about 150 thousand drivers who misfuel in England each year. This is three times as much as those who call AA Fuel Assist because they “only” ran out of fuel on the road.

These kinds of accidents can be prevented by a special cap SoloDiesel (www.solodiesel.eu), which prevents the use of the wrong fueling nozzle.
